The Embodied Human Project

FAQ

Honest answers

The questions everyone asks before their first journey, answered plainly.

What actually happens in a 9D breathwork journey?

You lie down, put on headphones, and follow a guided rhythm of breathing while a layered soundscape plays: music, vocal guidance, binaural beats, and somatic prompts. The breath pattern gently shifts your nervous system out of its everyday state so that stored tension and emotion can surface and move. Sessions typically run 60 to 90 minutes including preparation and integration time.

What is a Taster Tuesday?

It is the easiest way to find out whether this is for you, and it costs nothing. Every Tuesday at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM Eastern I run a 45 to 60 minute guided introduction on Zoom. It includes a 15 to 20 minute breathwork journey, an explanation of what is happening in your body, and time for your questions. You need headphones, a quiet room, and somewhere to lie down. Ask for the time you want and the link comes to your inbox.

Is breathwork safe?

For most healthy adults, yes, and every session is trauma-informed and paced so you stay in choice the whole time. Breathwork is not suitable for everyone: if you are pregnant or have a history of cardiovascular issues, seizures, severe mental health conditions, recent surgery, or glaucoma, talk to your doctor first and tell me before you book. You will complete a short screening before your first session.

Is this therapy? Will it heal my trauma?

No. Breathwork sessions are not therapy, medical treatment, or a cure for anything. They are guided somatic experiences that support your body's own capacity to release tension and self-regulate. Many people use them alongside therapy. If you are working with a therapist or doctor, keep doing that.

Why do people cry during breathwork?

Because the body finally gets a chance to finish something it has been holding. Tears, shaking, laughter, heat, and tingling are all common and normal. Nothing is wrong when this happens. You are always in control, and you can slow your breath and come back to baseline at any point.

I have done a lot of inner work already. Is this just another modality?

This is specifically for people who have done the work and still feel stuck. If you can explain your patterns but still live inside them, the missing piece usually is not more understanding. It is embodiment: letting the body process what the mind has already mapped. That is exactly the gap this practice works on.

How often should I do this?

A single journey can be powerful, but this practice works like anything else the body does: through repetition. Most people start with one journey, then settle into a rhythm that fits their life. You do not bathe once and call yourself clean forever; tension and stress accumulate through daily living, and a regular practice keeps clearing them.

What should I wear or bring?

Comfortable, loose clothing you can lie down in. For in-person journeys, everything else is provided; you are welcome to bring your own blanket or eye covering if that helps you settle. For online journeys you need headphones, a quiet room, and a place to lie down comfortably.

How much does it cost?

Taster Tuesdays are complimentary. Group sessions are $25 per participant during the beta launch. An introductory session for a group of up to 11 people, whether that is your team, your studio, or your friends, is also complimentary. Private sessions are by application, priced according to session length, journey type, and what you are working toward. Longer packages are being built now and their pricing is announced to the list first.

Where do sessions happen?

Online journeys run live on Zoom and reach you anywhere. In-person journeys run through partner studios and host locations across Southwestern Ontario, including Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent, and are announced as venues are secured. If you want an in-person journey near you, say so when you join the list; where people are genuinely shapes which venue gets booked next.

What are your certifications?

I am a David Bayer Certified Mindset Facilitator, active and current. I am also completing the final requirements of my 9D Breathwork facilitator certification, and breathwork sessions are being offered as part of that certification process and this beta launch phase. I would rather tell you exactly where I stand than imply something I have not finished.
